Our teachers are experienced in working with students with different educational needs and learning styles. In the past we have worked with students with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and dysgraphia. Some of our teachers have experience with students returning to their studies after drug rehabilitation. We are also familiar with working with gifted and accelerated students, especially in broadening their subject knowledge beyond the classroom limits. A number of our teachers have worked extensively in preparing and teaching individualized curricula for students with unique needs or circumstances.

English and Language Arts Tutors
Peter Bismuti
Math,
Physics,
Chemistry, Computer Science
Peter has spent 10 years working in computer programming and software
development, and 5 years as a Boeing Engineer. He has many years of
various teaching and tutoring experience, working at the University of
Washington, Bellevue College, and FSU as well as tutoring private
students. He holds Masters degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and
Applied Mathematics.
Irene Bloom
ESL K-adult,
Language Arts K-adult, Literacy K-adult
Irene has a MA Education with an AA Early Childhood
Education. She also holds TEFL certificates. She was an EFL
instructor in Jerusalem, Israel from 1994 to 2000. She has also worked
for many years as an ESL teacher and as an art and
religious studies teacher, working in museums. Irene is experienced in
working with students with learning disabilities.
Elisabeth Chowning
English and language arts, College essays, Basic French I, SAT , PSAT, ACT
Elisabeth holds a BA in English, with minors in French, German and history and ABT for a PhD in Educational Psychology program. She has been teaching or assistant/substitute teaching for 40 years in English and Foreign Languages departments.

Emma Garside

Emma holds a MA in Mathematics from the University of
Cambridge, England. After moving to America in 2000, she taught at a
private school for four
years. She took a break from full-time teaching to begin raising her
family, and since then has been a private tutor in math, chemistry and
earth science.
Cindy Holeman
English, Basic science,
French years 1& 2, Basic study skills
Cindy spent many years working in Employment Counseling
and Juvenile Probation. More recently she has been mentoring theology
classes through the University of the South. She has also tutored Latin
and French. Cindy is currently semi-retired but continues with
her mentoring position. Cindy has a
BA in Psychology from the University of Alaska and ABT for Master
of Science in Counseling Psychology.
Herb Holeman
Science,
Physics, Mathematics (high school and junior college)
Over the years, Herb has worked in radio science, telecommunications, satellite earth stations, broadcasting, telephone systems, and personal computer desktop support. He is currently semi-retired but doing occasional consulting on computer networking and support. Herb holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alaska.

Jennifer has a B.A. in Elementary Education with minors in Early
Childhood Education and Art. She has a Master's In
Education with Focus on Counseling. She has taught elementary school and
has 12 years'
experience tutoring math.

Elena Steinke

Elena graduated with honors from the U of W with a degree in mathematics. She taught for 15 years in a public high school and for three years at Forest Ridge Academy before "retiring" to become a full time mother. She has been tutoring for the last 20 years at all levels of secondary mathematics, including AP Calculus. In addition to tutoring, she has been teaching Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-calculus classes at Kelsey Creek Home School in Bellevue for the past several years. Elena holds a current standard teaching certificate.
